Gigabit AHE is a 1-Gigabit bandwidth aggregator for the distribution
loop. GB AHE is related to the RAMNET system. It interfaces
to the Area Loop at 1-Gigabit and the Gigabit switch/server
link at 1-Gigabit. It acts as the Head End for the Area Loop.
In case of loop failure, the AHE automatically selects the
redundant path for communication. Area Loop break and establish
condition is detected within 100msec.
Multiple AHE can be connected to a Gigabit Switch to realize
large network. The hardware and firmware is field programmable
and can be upgraded from remote head End. Multiple AHE can
be connected in a loop topology to realize large network.
The Loop under each AHE will be made by inserting DHE within
the Lower side of each AHE.
