DSL-DM is a switching
element in the RAMNet. This unit is developed considering
the DSL technology where the end user is connected to RAMNet
through his normal telephone lines which terminate on a DSL
modem. It supports two 100 Mbps ports, one UP port and one
DOWN port. These ports are used to realize fault tolerant
loop as shown in figure. The DSL-DM supports user ports at
100 Mbps. The DSL-DM module contains four user ports. The
customers are connected to these ports through the DSLAM.
